Champagne Direct stocks the most comprehensive range of Laurent-Perrier Champagne in the UK.
The House of Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 by André Michel Pierlot and took the name Vve Laurent-Perrier when Mathilde Emilie Perrier, the widow of Eugène Laurent, combined the two family names after she decided to expand the business.
In 1945, Bernard de Nonancourt began an exacting apprenticeship, learning every aspect of winemaking from vine to cellar, before his appointment in October 1948 as Chairman and Chief Executive. He created the signature Laurent-Perrier style of freshness, lightness and elegance.
In 1968, Laurent-Perrier launched Cuvée Rosé Brut in an elegant bottle inspired by those made in the time of French King Henri IV. For this innovation, Bernard de Nonancourt and his staff once again displayed outstanding winemaking creativity, and decided to use a skin contact maceration technique, also known as saignée. This calls for special care and know-how. It is used to extract the maximum aromatic richness from the Pinot Noir grapes and obtain a wine of a delicate, salmon-pink colour.
Revered by wine-lovers for its flavours and by aesthetes for the beauty of its 17th century-style bottle, Laurent-Perrier Rose is one of the stars in the Laurent-Perrier range.
April 2017 sees the UK launch of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvee, a product 15 years in the making, which becomes the new flagship of the House style - which is one of purity, freshness, elegance and delicacy. La Cuvee will soon be available worldwide, replacing LP Brut NV.
La Cuvée offers a greater sense of
balance and more complexity in bouquet. More than 100
crus have been selected for La Cuvée (up from 55
crus), a slightly higher proportion of chardonnay is
used and each bottle receives a lighter dosage of 10.5g/l (down from 12.5g/l). Each bottle has been matured for up to four years on lees
in Laurent-Perrier’s cellars at around 11°C.
