Laurent-Perrier has chosen to make vintages very rarely, only selecting the very best years. This makes Laurent-Perrier Vintage a rare and outstanding wine that clearly expresses the specific character of a year albeit in the Laurent-Perrier style.
Vintage 2007 pairs well with smooth and creamy dishes. Its roundness and delicacy will prolong tasting pleasure with poultry or other white meats (poached rather than grilled).
Best served between 9°C and 11°C.
Chardonnay 50%, Pinot Noir 50%
Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims: Verzy, Verzenay, Mailly, Louvois, Bouzy and Chardonnay from the Cote des Blancs: Chouilly, Cramant, Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger.
The year 2007 began with an unusually mild winter, followed by a warm spring which led to early flowering. The summer however was disappointing but fortunately the weather improved towards the end of summer with the harvest starting in late August. Despite the chaotic summer weather it was an unexpectedly generous harvest, with grapes of good quality and maturity marked with high acidity hinting at the potential for making vintage champagne.
Blending & Winemaking:
Laurent-Perrier rarely makes vintages, declaring them half as frequently as the market.
