Tasting Notes:
The colour is a pale straw yellow. The bubbles are exceptionally fine and abundant and form a delicate mousse. The delicate nose is reminiscent of a mixture of flinty aromas and toast, followed by fine and light essences of wood echoed by subtle notes of brioche and vanilla.
The first impression on the palate is fresh and smooth, followed by a refined mid-palate with dominant mellow, creamy, fruity flavours of pink grapefruit and white peach. The long, rich finish is balanced and harmonious. Combining delicacy and generous fruitiness with freshness and harmony,
Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 1999 displays long ageing potential.
The ultimate celebratory toast and a perfect match to shellfish and fish.

Background Information:
Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is produced in the cellars of the thirteenth century Saint-Nicaise abbey in Reims. The greatest care is taken at every stage of production and it is produced only when all conditions essential to its unique style are met. It is made exclusively Chardonnay grapes from the most renowned Crus of the prestigious Côte de Blancs. The harvest must be of exceptional quality and worthy of a Vintage Champagne. Only wines from the first press (La Cuvée) are used. This guarantees the wine's finesse. 5% of the wines used in the blend are aged in new oak barrels (one third of which are replaced every year) thus enhancing the intrinsic qualities of the final blend.
The bottle of Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is presented in a Taittinger branded gift box.
