Dom Perignon Rose 2000 (Limited Edition Bottle)
To celebrate the release of its millennium Rose 2000 Vintage, Dom Perignon has created the limited edition “Stunning Label” as a tribute to the Dom Perignon Rose style at its best.
The purple colour of the gift box reflects the Pinot Noir grapes that give Dom Perignon its unmistakable colour, while the rose gold reflections of the metallic label appear like the rose colour in the wine, revealing the essence of Dom Perignon in a new light.
For these Limited Edition bottle the signature Dom Perignon shield has been made out of a silvery rosé-coloured metal which can be custom-engraved to create a one-of-a-kind commemorative bottle.
Tasting Notes:
Dom Perignon Rose Vintage 2000 disrupts the classicism of the millennium and reveals its daring side. This pivotal vintage is an interpretation of the millennium in rosé.
The wine’s surprising colour is deep and strong, glinting with amber and copper. On the nose, the first floral notes immediately give way to black cherry and candied citrus peel, complemented by cocoa and a few smoky accents.
On the palate, the flawless construction achieves a perfect classicism on the palate, dominated by a sensation of balance, consistency and integration. The wine has a surprisingly brilliance and fleshy fruitiness. Its initial solidity becomes more tactile and finally sappy, with a subtly bittersweet note
Background Information:
Dom Perignon Rose is considered the jewel of Dom Perignon: luminous, complex and bold, it is the most daring and intriguing expression of the Dom Perignon style.
This jewel holds the secret to eternal life: after being aged for 10 years before being released, it still has the same light-heartedness, impetuosity and vivacity, the vitality of the fruit is intact.
Dom Perignon Rose is made from the purest fruit: the rarest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Only a handful of the finest grands crus vineyards have the soil and exposure that enable them to attain their fullest expression, which is why Dom Pérignon Rosé is always produced in very limited numbers.
These red wines provide extra vinosity, which must be balanced out in the final assemblage to conform to the Dom Perignon style, making it a real challenge for the Chef de Cave.
“Dom Perignon Rose is an extrovert wine that gives the Pinot Noir grape its due, almost to the point of contradiction, since the heart of the Dom Pérignon spirit is to achieve a perfect balance between white and black grapes. That is what makes it so tantalizing,” says Richard Geoffroy, Dom Pérignon Chef de Cave.
